Community, Family, and Gerontological Nursing

Community, Family, and Gerontological Nursing are two areas of specialization in nursing that focus on the overall healthcare of communities, families, and the care of elderly individuals (geriatrics). Those nursing fields require a sensitive and attentive approach to the changes in healthcare needs throughout the life cycle, both within the family and in the care of elderly individuals. Community, Family, and Gerontological Nursing also involve education and empowerment of patients and families to enhance overall well-being.
