Guest Lecture Objective Structured Clinical Examination (OSCE) in Nursing General

On Wednesday, November 23 2022, Nursing Study Program, Faculty of Medicine, Udayana University held a guest lecture on the topic of Objective Structured Clinical Examination (OSCE) in Nursing with Dr. I Made Kariasa, MM., M.Kep., Sp. KMB as the speaker. This event was held in room Prof. dr. I Goesti Ngoerah Gde Ngoerah, Faculty of Medicine Building, 4th Floor, Sudirman Campus. Dr. I Made Kariasa, MM., M.Kep., Sp. KMB is a Lecturer at the University of Indonesia and the Executive Board of the Association of Indonesian Nurses Education Institutions (AIPNI) who in charge of the Indonesian Nurses Professional Competency Test. The guest lecture program was opened by Dr. Ns. Ika Widi Astuti, S.Kep.,M.Kep., Sp.Kep.Mat. representing the Nursing Study Program Coordinator. This event was attended by all lecturers online and offline. This guest lecture activity aims to prepare nursing OSCE activities according to national standards.

Nursing OSCE is a test conducted in the laboratory to assess students' skills in carrying out nursing care, especially nursing actions. Exams with the OSCE method have advantages in assessing clinical performance and professional behavior. An issue that is developing in the world of professional nurse education in Indonesia, OSCE nursing will be enforced nationally. To deal with this issue, the Undergraduate Study Program of Nursing and Nurse Professions at the Faculty of Medicine, Udayana University prepared itself by equipping laboratory facilities, compiling OSCE guidebooks, and seeking information about the mechanism for implementing nursing OSCE.
